Ladakh’s geography makes it home to several high-altitude specialties, with birds like Chukar Partridge, Upland Buzzard, Tibetan Snowcock, Tibetan Sandgrouse, and more!

Day 01: Leh

Upon arriving in Leh, the crisp mountain air and majestic peaks instantly captivate your senses. As the afternoon approaches, you embark on a short guided tour in the vicinity. Day 03: Leh to Sakti via Agham and Wari La

After breakfast, check out and drive to Tso Kar (194 km, a 6 hour drive).

This day's journey takes you from Sakti to the stunning Tso Kar, a high-altitude lake known for its incredible wildlife and birding opportunities. Your guide and driver are ready, and with packed meals in tow, you set off on another day of adventure.

Leaving Sakti, the road winds through scenic valleys and dramatic mountain passes. Early on, you stop to scan the cliffs and skies for birds. Your guide sets up the scope, and you take turns peering through, hoping to catch sight of the magnificent Lammergeier soaring overhead or the nimble Wallcreeper clinging to rocky outcrops. This day is dedicated to photography and further exploration of the Tso Kar region. The early morning light offers the best conditions for capturing the stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife. With your camera in hand, you follow your guide to various vantage points around the lake, where you can photograph the reflections of the mountains in the water, flocks of birds taking flight, and the graceful movements of the Kiang.

Throughout the day, you continue to explore different parts of the lake and its environs. Each area presents new opportunities for wildlife sightings and photography. You might capture the elegant flight of the Golden Eagle, the vibrant colors of the Himalayan Rubythroat, or the playful antics of the Pikas among the rocks. The rare sighting of the Eurasian Eagle Owl or the Red Fox can make your day even more thrilling. You start the journey back from Leh taking a flight back to Delhi. You head to the airport in the morning.

Boarding your flight, you take one last look at the mighty Himalayas through the airplane window. The journey has been a blend of peaceful moments, thrilling wildlife encounters, and deep cultural exchanges. The sights of the Black-necked Cranes at Tso Kar, the majestic flight of the Golden Eagle, and the playful antics of the Tibetan Wild Ass will stay with you forever.
